Weekly Report
Week ending May 6th 2012
After last Sundays torrential rain, the Trap recovered very quickly indeed. Rports have been very encouraging for the comming bankholiday weekend.
20 lb catches commonplace and mostly made up of silvers, however best catch of the week came on monday with approx 40lb, consisting of a Common, 7 good Bream and a load of silvers all coming to the pole on peg 19.
Best pegs this week have been well spread, with the following all throwing up good catches;
Pegs 45, 2, 12, 19, 25, 33, 37,and 42.
Best methods are again varried with the straight lead taking 17 lb in Thursdays match and pole being responsible for catches from depths between 2 and 14 foot. So really anything goes.
Tuesday evening, 15th May will see the first of a new series of matches on the Trap Pool. The draw will be at 5:30pm with fishing from 6pm till 9pm. Matches will be open to ALL CLUB MEMBERS and will cost a meagre 3 quid, all of which will be paid out on the night. These matches are being run as an experiment to try to introduce the huge number of pleasure anglers we have fishing the pool, to match fishing without them being totally money orientated. Junior members are more than welcome but unfortunately, cannot enter the pools. However, to continue our promotion of junior match angling, any junior finishing in the frame will pick up a Tackle Voucher to spend at Lionels.
Please note, should a carp be caught during these matches, it will only be allowed to weigh a max of 3lb.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT KEEPNETS MAY ONLY BE USED IN BONAFIDE MATCHES UNTIL AFTER THE 15TH OF JUNE.
If you are planning to visit the water, please remember to purchase your day ticket from Lionels Tackle BEFORE FISHING . For opening hours use the link to Lionels Tackle, on the Useful Links Page.
